The place looks rather quiet
as we walked in on a Monday afternoon. I was told, however, that this is a popular
place for dinner and reservation is recommended.
Greens are always a must at
any meal – so we had 2 stir fried yau mal (RM10) and stir fried baby spinach
(RM12). Both vegetables were fried with sufficient charring from the wok (wok
hei) and I have no complaints.
Salted vegetable soup (RM10) –
with lots of meat, salted vegetables, spring onion and tofu, the soup was
alright.
Sweet & sour chicken
fillet (RM16) – pretty dish that was pleasing to the palate as well.
Braised pork with peanuts and
dried chillies (RM20) - the combination
of fat pork and tender peanuts made this dish super delicious.
Fried eggs with prawns (RM16) –
fresh prawns with eggs – a combination that can never go wrong.
Japanese tofu with sweet peas,
carrots, meat and mushrooms (RM12). Wow! The cooking was simply superb! Each
piece of tofu was such a delight.
Fried prawns (RM22) – fresh,
succulent prawns were used and we really enjoyed this dish.
Assam fish (RM28) – this had a
perfect balance of sour and hot. With tomatoes and ladies fingers, it was
certainly a dish I didn’t mind having again and again.
