Ben & Nick Diner

A tiny, cosy diner run by a father and son is what Ben & Nick is. The minute I made my way in, I fell in love with the place which is nicely and thoughtfully done up.

Famed for its Cajun food, there’s no way I was going to miss ordering the good stuff.

Our drinks – Milo (RM4.90) , lemon tea (RM3.90) and lemon juice (RM3.90)

We ordered salad for starters and the damage was RM19.90. With shredded cheese and hard boiled eggs, this was absolutely a salad to die for!

Mushroom soup (RM7.90) – a little too diluted for my liking.

Garlic bread (RM5.90) – truly awesome as it had the right amount of garlickiness in it!

Cajun prawns (RM32.50) – very tasty and fresh prawns, served with some fries and  broccoli.
This is a must-have dish here.

This is combo blanket which resembles tortilla. One half was filled with chicken, the other beef.

Sherwood’s Kuantan

Sherwood is said to be  one of Kuantan’s best Western restaurants. We went there this afternoon to have our fill of some of its dishes. As I walked in, I could see lots of bread, cheese and other items on sale.

Mixed salad (RM7.50)

Mixed grill (RM30) – some of the meat was slightly tough, but overall the platter was pretty ok.

Mushroom soup (RM6) – the thick soup had lots of fresh mushrooms in it and was certainly a hit amongst us.

Garlic bread (RM5.50) – my comment would be : not garlicky enough.

 Pizza (RM34) – pretty alright!

Spaghetti boloqnese (RM24) – plain looking yet acceptable in terms of taste.

Chicken chop (RM21) – I think this was the best dish – in terms of presentation and taste. The tender chicken was well seasoned and delicious.

Milk shake (RM7.80) – the looks of this milk shake certainly didn’t get my ‘stamp of approval’

Full House, Sunway Pyramid

It has been a while since we set foot in Full House and for that very reason, we went there earlier today.
The place still looks spick and span, I noticed that their signature Mini car was a hit with the children who were flocking the place with their families.

We ordered a few dishes and what I like is that they serve drinks to children in paper cups, so it gives me peace of mind as I always get very worried when eateries serve drinks in tall glasses to children.

And if eating alone does not leave you satisfied and the shopaholic in you need to spend more money, there are clothes for sale too at the back portion of this café.

Restoran Salmon Steak , SS15 Subang

With an ambience which was pleasant enough to attract us ,I was very surprised at the prices of food at Salmon Steak Restaurant, located just opposite the Subang Square Business Centre. Well, perhaps food here is affordable as it is right smack in the middle of what I call a ‘student’s haven’!

In fact, page 1 of the menu is a list of what they call ‘Student Menu’ . With prices ranging from RM 6 to RM8 , you can have tandoori chicken rice, grill fish rice or even chicken chop rice.

The restaurant is divided into 2 sections – you may choose to sit in the air conditioned section  or just dine al-fresco,  enjoying the beautiful sound of water outside.

We ordered a few dishes so that we could try out some of the many dishes they had to offer:-

These are our drinks. The yellowish drink in the middle is honey lemon (RM4.80). The 2 bluish drinks are blue mint (RM5) on the right and lemon blue (also RM5) on the left (the drink with a pink plastic spoon). All drinks were good and I love them all.

This is mushroom soup (RM4) – which looks like something you can get straight out of a can of Campbell’s.

Salmon steak – a huge piece of delicious salmon steak with a generous dollop of salad, some fries, broccoli and a sausage. All these for RM15!

Mixed platter of chicken and beef (RM18) – this normally comes with black pepper sauce but we requested for ours to be served with brown sauce instead – the outcome was a really to die for platter!

Beef cordon bleu (RM17) – love the 2 pieces of cheese on top. This was to me the best of the dishes we had. The beef was done to perfection –not overcooked and not too raw or tough. Simply awesome!

Great food at very affordable prices ~ will definitely be back!
