Black Canyon Coffee Summit USJ

Walking into Black Canyon Coffee at Summit USJ is an amazing experience as I love the calm and quiet of this outlet.  The dim lights and wooden flooring gives it an extra boost as far as ambience is concerned.

These 2 drinks are simply blueberry shake and chiangmai. If you are wondering why the unique name chiangmai, well, you need to know that this chain originates from Thailand.

Spaghetti with chicken and ham (RM9.90) –this generous serving of al dente pasta makes you wanna come back every day for more pasta!

French fries (RM5.90) – not oily, simply marvellous

Green curry rice (RM10.90) – I love the presentation of this plate of rice. Just look at how the rice has been cleverly ‘compacted’ into a block . The egg has been cut and arranged carefully. The same can be said of the cucumber and tomato slices. Love it!

American fried rice (RM10.90) – probably called so because of the sausages, sunny side up and slices of ‘ham’. The fried rice was tasty and we polished it all off!

Chicken salad (RM9.90) -  I like the fact that this healthy platter is colourful and has a variety of vege!

Sherwood’s Kuantan

Sherwood is said to be  one of Kuantan’s best Western restaurants. We went there this afternoon to have our fill of some of its dishes. As I walked in, I could see lots of bread, cheese and other items on sale.

Mixed salad (RM7.50)

Mixed grill (RM30) – some of the meat was slightly tough, but overall the platter was pretty ok.

Mushroom soup (RM6) – the thick soup had lots of fresh mushrooms in it and was certainly a hit amongst us.

Garlic bread (RM5.50) – my comment would be : not garlicky enough.

 Pizza (RM34) – pretty alright!

Spaghetti boloqnese (RM24) – plain looking yet acceptable in terms of taste.

Chicken chop (RM21) – I think this was the best dish – in terms of presentation and taste. The tender chicken was well seasoned and delicious.

Milk shake (RM7.80) – the looks of this milk shake certainly didn’t get my ‘stamp of approval’

Sassorosso

Chef Giovanni  is the man behind Sassorosso, which means red rock. This restaurant is tucked away along the quieter part of Yap Kwan Seng and when you do find it, you find a gem.

I would not say that prices here are affordable and as such I only dine here on very special occasions. I was there this afternoon with a very special guest from overseas  (who simply adores great wine & food). I am so excited to  write about the lobster spaghetti which is absolutely awesome here. Al dente pasta served with an entire lobster which I would describe as fresh, bursting with flavour and absolutely succulent was what this platter was all about.  Be warned however, that it comes with a very hefty price tag ..RM2xx!!

Full House, Sunway Pyramid

It has been a while since we set foot in Full House and for that very reason, we went there earlier today.
The place still looks spick and span, I noticed that their signature Mini car was a hit with the children who were flocking the place with their families.

We ordered a few dishes and what I like is that they serve drinks to children in paper cups, so it gives me peace of mind as I always get very worried when eateries serve drinks in tall glasses to children.

And if eating alone does not leave you satisfied and the shopaholic in you need to spend more money, there are clothes for sale too at the back portion of this café.

Ben’s BSC

At BSC, I am always spoilt for choice where dining is concerned.  Today I decided to check out Ben’s. As I stepped into Ben’s, I notice that there are ample options available. You may choose for normal tables and chairs or table with sofas, or even sit near the entrance where there are some tiny chairs….which, by the way, is not my idea of a comfy seat.

Anyway, I’ll move on to what we ate…or rather drank. We had vanilla milk shake (RM9.90) and berry basil lemonade (RM9.90). I love the luxurious vanilla cream. I slowly slurped this with my straw and I realise that although the milkshake had what I would call a thick consistency, I could slurp it with ease.

Beef Bolognese (RM22.90) – firm textured spaghetti topped with flavourful Bolognese sauce – heavenly!

House salad (RM15.90) – with an interesting combination of vegetables, amongst them lettuce, baby tomatoes cut into halves, avocado and edamame , every mouthful of this salad brought about a new sensation to my palatte. Love it!

Nasi lemak  – although priced  at RM26.90, which is a little expensive to me, the nasi lemak was rich in coconut milk and that certainky made it superbly delicious.

Chicken vegetable soup (RM14.90) – tasty and satisfying – these were the words that immediately came to my mind .

French fries (Rm7.90)
