Makan Trip to Kuantan- Restoran Seri Pantai Jaya

I’ve been to Restaurant Seri Pantai a few times for weddings. This time I decided to check out this place for lunch. Covered car park is available (for free, yes!) if you arrive early. Otherwise you may choose to park at the available parking lots and pay theMPK parking rates. Alternatively, you could also walk a little –just about 100 metres away and there is an empty plot of land for patrons of this restaurant – once again, for free too!
The banquet hall (only used for weddings & other functions)

Another shot of the banquet hall

We arrived at 12.30pm and the place is already bustling – lots of tables were already taken…hmm..an indication of a good restaurant. The captain recommended the soup of the day which was called the treasure soup. For RM13 a bowl, this soup was value for money. It was not only filled with good quality food but was very tasty. There were pieces of chicken, a whole Chinese mushroom, sea cucumber, fish maw and a slice of abalone.

This is the stir fried baby french beans (RM10). The French beans used were  young (as babies should be, I would say) and crunchy too. I LOVED it.

This is a dish of lotus roots fried with kei chi, asparagus, anchovies, cloud ears, carrots and some sweet peas. The concoction produced a sweet and unique taste…not bad! Only RM12 .

This is the steamed white pomfret. I found this dish slightly bland. And to think that I have to part  with RM85 for this dish really makes me sad.

Despite the tasteless fish , I would rate this meal 8/10 and will definitely come back for more.
